Does Jacob Elordi have a gap between his front teeth, and has he had veneers? Those questions drive most searches for Jacob Elordi teeth. He has made no public statement about either, and the one dental detail on record is a gold tooth cap that Hello magazine reported he wore at the Sydney premiere of Wuthering Heights.
In this article from Prof Clinic we look at what is on record, what the photos show about his gap and gum line, when a gap or a gummy smile is a problem and how gum contouring works.
What Is on Record About Jacob Elordi’s Teeth?
In February 2026 Hello described Elordi arriving at the Sydney premiere of Wuthering Heights in a gold tooth cap adorned with the letter H, and said he wore a similar cap through the whole film, in which he plays Heathcliff.

Hello’s piece is about fashion and the film. It says nothing about dental treatment, and Elordi has not discussed his own teeth in public. What remains is photographs, and two features draw most of the comment: a small space between the upper front teeth and the gum that shows when he laughs.
Does Jacob Elordi Have a Gap in His Teeth, and Has He Had Veneers?
In some photographs there is a small space between his two upper central teeth, and in others there isn’t. The medical term is diastema, and Cleveland Clinic describes it as a gap between teeth, most often the upper front pair, that doesn’t often harm oral health. On veneers there is no statement from him and no dentist has spoken about his teeth on the record. The American Dental Association lists masking gaps among the things veneers do, but a photo shows a gap or a gum line, not whether anything was done.

When he laughs, a band of gum shows above the front teeth. A StatPearls review of excessive gingival display says a display of 1 to 2 mm when smiling is considered normal, and that authors set the line for excessive display at more than 2 mm or more than 3 to 4 mm. Nobody can measure that on a photograph, which is why the question belongs to a dentist.
When Is a Gap or a Gummy Smile Worth Treating?
Usually it isn’t. Cleveland Clinic calls a gap typically a cosmetic concern. The exception is a gap that is new or getting wider, because it can come from gum disease, and pain, redness or swelling are the signs to watch. For gum display, StatPearls lists the causes: a short or overactive upper lip, gum that sits too low on the teeth, a vertically long upper jaw, or teeth that have erupted too far. The cause decides the treatment, so it comes first.
If you do want a gap closed, Cleveland Clinic lists these options:
- Bonding: tooth-coloured resin fills the space.
- Porcelain veneers: thin ceramic shells cover the front of the teeth.
- Braces or clear aligners: they move the teeth together.
- Frenectomy: a small procedure for a thick band of tissue that pushes the teeth apart.

What Is Gum Contouring, and Is It Permanent?
Gum contouring removes excess gum tissue to make a smile look more uniform. It is usually done by a periodontist, with a scalpel or a handheld laser, under local anaesthetic. Cleveland Clinic says it takes one to two hours on average, that most people heal within a week, and that providers wait about eight to 12 weeks before judging the final result. In most cases the result is permanent. Regrowth is uncommon and usually happens when not enough bone was removed beneath the gum.
It isn’t for everyone. Cleveland Clinic says no one with existing decay or gum disease should have it or any other cosmetic procedure, so those are treated first. The cause matters too. StatPearls describes botulinum toxin for a gummy smile from an overactive lip, lip repositioning for mild vertical excess of the jaw with a hypermobile lip, and gingivectomy, or crown lengthening, when there is enough bone and attached gum.

Both gum contouring and veneers are lasting decisions. The ADA says veneer treatment is not reversible because enamel is removed, and gum contouring is permanent in most cases. Cleveland Clinic calls most gaps a cosmetic matter and StatPearls calls 1 to 2 mm of gum display normal, so if a photo is the only thing bothering you, you can take your time.

Prof Clinic: Smile Design in Istanbul, Turkey
Our Hollywood smile treatment in Turkey is planned from 3D imaging and digital smile design, and crowns and whitening are done at the same clinic, so your case isn’t passed between providers. Our coordination team answers your questions on WhatsApp and handles follow-up once you’re home. Before recommending anything, we check:
| Factor | What we assess | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Smile line | How much gum and tooth show at rest and when you laugh | Shows whether the cause is the lip, the gum or the teeth |
| Tooth proportions | Width and length of the front teeth against the gum line | Decides whether the gum, the teeth or both need attention |
| Gum health | Signs of inflammation or gum disease | Gum disease is treated before any cosmetic work |
| Gap | Whether tooth size, tissue or habits cause it | Decides whether bonding, aligners or no treatment suits |
Every case is different, so we plan each one separately. If you’d like our opinion on your own mouth, send an X-ray or photos through our contact page, or see real cases in the Before & After gallery.
