Is it normal to feel sensitivity after a new crown?
Some temporary sensitivity to hot or cold is common after a tooth is shaped and crowned, and it usually settles within days to weeks. If pain is strong or lasts, contact your dentist, as the bite may need adjusting or the nerve may need treatment.
Should I choose a bridge or an implant for a missing tooth?
Dental bridges in Turkey are usually supported by the neighboring teeth, which must be shaped, while an implant replaces the root without touching those teeth but needs enough bone and healing time. The right choice depends on the health of the nearby teeth, your bone, and your preferences.
How many visits do crowns and bridges need in Istanbul?
Crowns and bridges usually need two or more visits over several days. The teeth are prepared and scanned, the restorations are designed digitally, and then they are tried in and fitted. Cases that need root canal treatment or gum care first may take longer.
How long do zirconia crowns last?
With good brushing, flossing, and regular check-ups, crowns can last many years. They may still need repair or replacement over time because of wear, chipping, decay at the edge, or gum changes. Grinding your teeth can shorten their life, so a night guard may be advised.
Does getting a crown damage the natural tooth?
The tooth must be shaped to make room for the crown, which removes part of the enamel and cannot be reversed. This is why crowns are chosen when a tooth really needs full coverage. In some cases, a filling or veneer may be a more conservative option.
What is the difference between zirconia and E.max crowns?
Zirconia is a very strong ceramic, so it is often used for back teeth, crowns on implants, and bridges. E.max (lithium disilicate) is more translucent and looks closer to natural enamel, which makes emax crowns popular for front teeth. Your dentist recommends the material based on tooth position and bite.
