Young Thug teeth before fame and after

Young Thug’s Teeth Before Fame and After: What Changed?

Young Thug teeth changed dramatically between his early mixtape years and his later mainstream career. Early footage shows more spacing, darker shade variation and irregular front-tooth edges, while later appearances show a much brighter and more uniform smile. Young Thug has also referenced veneers and an implant in his own music, giving this transformation more evidence than photographs alone.

In the 2017 track Real Love, he rapped, I got an implant ’cause I took off the veneers. That does not provide a clinical treatment record, but it does show that Young Thug veneers were more than an internet theory. His dental history appears to have involved more than one stage rather than a single permanent makeover.

Medical note
This article is educational and does not diagnose Young Thug or any reader. Veneers, implants and other cosmetic or restorative treatments require examination of the teeth, gums and bite, with X-rays or other imaging when clinically necessary.

Young Thug has no known connection to Prof Clinic. His public smile is discussed only as an example of how extensive cosmetic dental changes can alter shade, shape and visible tooth proportions.

A Transformation Fans Tracked in Real Time

Young Thug’s dental transformation unfolded during a period when his career was becoming increasingly visual.

His official 2014 Stoner music video provides a useful early-career reference. A year later, his official Best Friend video gave audiences another close look at his smile shortly before the brighter, more regular appearance associated with his later mainstream era.

The change therefore did not appear suddenly in one red-carpet photograph. Fans could watch it develop across videos, performances and releases.

Young Thug’s Old Teeth Before Fame

Young Thug’s teeth before fame looked noticeably different from the smile seen later in his career.

Early footage shows visible spacing between some front teeth, more variation in shade and less uniform tooth edges. The teeth also differed more in apparent width and position than they do in many later photographs.

That does not make Young Thug old teeth unhealthy or bad. Irregular spacing, shade differences and individual tooth shapes can all exist in perfectly functional mouths.

The same restraint matters when looking at Young Thug teeth before the fame through low-resolution photographs. Old music videos can establish how the smile looked, but they cannot reveal enamel thickness, decay, gum condition or the underlying reasons for later treatment.

Why Rap Video Close-Ups Made the Change Obvious

Music videos make dental changes particularly easy to notice.

Rap videos frequently use tight facial framing, jewellery close-ups, bright lighting and direct-to-camera performance. Teeth, grills and jewellery can become deliberate parts of an artist’s visual identity.

Young Thug’s smile also entered his music directly. On Floyd Mayweather, released during the JEFFERY era, he referenced having new teeth, reinforcing that the visible change was something he himself acknowledged rather than something created entirely by online before-and-after comparisons.

By the following year, Real Love went further and specifically referenced an implant after veneers had been removed.

Those lyrics still do not tell us which teeth were treated, what material was used or how many units were involved. But they give the timeline a stronger foundation than visual speculation alone.

From Old Teeth to New: The Visible Change

The difference in Young Thug teeth before and after is most obvious when the entire visible smile is considered rather than one tooth.

Earlier footage shows more natural variation. Later appearances often show greater shade consistency, more regular visible proportions and a much brighter overall smile.

The transformation appears broad enough to affect how the smile reads as a whole, but photographs do not reveal exactly how many teeth were veneered, whether some were crowned or which tooth later received the implant Young Thug mentioned.

What Changed: Shade, Shape and Alignment

Three changes stand out visually.

  • Shade became much more consistent. Early teeth show greater variation from tooth to tooth, while later visible teeth often appear similarly bright.
  • Tooth shapes became more regular. The front teeth look more coordinated in width, length and edge position.
  • Visible spacing appears reduced. Later smiles present a fuller, more continuous tooth line than much of the early footage.

Those features are consistent with what cosmetic restorations can accomplish, but they should not be used to reverse-engineer Young Thug’s exact treatment plan.

A veneer can alter visible shape, shade, proportion and minor apparent alignment, but it does not move a tooth through bone in the way orthodontics does.

His Smile Across the Mixtape and Mainstream Eras

The early-mixtape period gives us the clearest view of Young Thug teeth before major cosmetic change. Videos from the early 2010s show a more irregular and individually varied front smile.

By the mid-2010s, the change became increasingly visible. His JEFFERY-era material is particularly useful because Young Thug himself began referencing his new smile in his music.

The later Real Love reference adds another layer: the veneers were apparently not necessarily the final stage, because he subsequently mentioned removing them and having an implant.

That makes simplistic Young Thug before veneers versus after-veneers comparisons incomplete. His public comments through music suggest multiple stages of dental treatment, even though the exact sequence remains private.

What Clinicians Notice in Side-by-Side Photos

A dentist looking at Young Thug teeth before-after comparisons would focus less on whether the later smile is better and more on what changed structurally and optically.

The most noticeable features include:

  • More uniform shade across adjacent teeth
  • More consistent apparent tooth widths
  • Straighter-looking incisal edges
  • Reduced visible spacing
  • Greater symmetry across the smile
  • Less tooth-to-tooth colour variation

Opacity is also important. Natural enamel contains subtle differences in translucency from the gum area toward the biting edge. Restorations can reproduce that effect well, but overly opaque materials may create a flatter appearance.

None of these visual clues can tell us precisely which restorations Young Thug has today.

Full Arch Veneers: What the Treatment Involves

The phrase full arch veneers can be misleading if it suggests that every tooth in the mouth automatically receives a veneer.

Veneers are thin restorations placed primarily over the visible surfaces of existing teeth. A broad smile makeover may involve 8 to 10 upper teeth, 16 teeth across both visible arches or 20 teeth when 10 upper and 10 lower teeth show prominently.

The American Dental Association’s veneer guidance explains that veneers can change the appearance of chipped, stained, crooked or misshapen teeth and that conventional veneer treatment is irreversible because enamel is removed.

An implant is fundamentally different. It replaces a missing tooth root and supports a restoration. That distinction matters in Young Thug’s case because his own lyrics referenced both veneers and an implant.

17 Things to Ask Before Full Arch Veneers

  1. Do all of these teeth actually need veneers? Healthy teeth should not be included simply to reach a package number.
  2. Could whitening solve the shade problem first? Whitening may reduce the number of teeth that need restoration.
  3. Do any teeth need orthodontic movement? Veneers can alter appearance, but they should not automatically replace appropriate alignment treatment.
  4. How much enamel will be removed? Preparation should be as conservative as the case allows.
  5. How much bonding will remain in enamel? A recent systematic review of ceramic veneers found higher survival and success when veneers were bonded primarily to enamel rather than extensively exposed dentin.
  6. Which material is being recommended? E-max, porcelain, composite and other restorative materials behave differently.
  7. Why is that material right for each tooth? The same material does not automatically need to be used everywhere.
  8. How many units will show when I smile? The visible smile line should help determine the treatment count.
  9. Can I preview the design? Digital smile design or a mock-up can reveal problems with width, length or symmetry before final restorations.
  10. How white should the final shade be? Maximum brightness is not automatically the most natural result.
  11. How will tooth proportions be controlled? Closing spaces by making every tooth wider can create a bulky smile.
  12. How will the bite be checked? Veneers need to function during chewing and jaw movement, not just look good in photographs.
  13. Do I grind or clench? The ADA notes that clenching, grinding or a deep overbite can affect veneer suitability.
  14. What happens if one veneer chips? Ask whether it can be repaired or whether full replacement would be required.
  15. What does the warranty cover? Sports trauma, grinding damage and accidental fracture may have different conditions.
  16. How long should I realistically expect the veneers to last? Longevity varies with material, preparation, bite and maintenance.
  17. What aftercare is required? Veneers still need brushing, interdental cleaning, dental reviews and protection from damaging habits.

How Many Units a Full Smile Needs

There is no universal veneer count. A patient who displays mainly the upper front teeth may need around 8 to 10 upper units to create visual continuity.

A broader smile plan may use 16 units, commonly covering approximately eight visible upper and eight lower teeth. A 20-unit plan may extend to 10 upper and 10 lower visible teeth.

Prof Clinic’s 3D Hollywood Smile guide describes 16 to 20 restorations as a common full-smile range, generally covering the teeth most visible during smiling and speaking.

But tooth count should follow smile width, tooth display and clinical need, not the size of a package.

A patient who only needs eight upper veneers should not receive 20 merely because 20 sounds more complete.

Why Shade Restraint Matters More Than Brightness

One of the easiest ways to make a large veneer case look artificial is to focus only on whiteness.

A natural tooth is not one solid white block. It contains variations in translucency, brightness and surface texture.

When 16 or 20 restorations are created together, excessive brightness becomes even more noticeable because the effect repeats across the entire smile.

A stronger design considers:

  • Skin tone
  • Age
  • Lip colour
  • Face shape
  • Remaining natural teeth
  • Tooth translucency
  • Surface texture
  • How the smile looks in daylight as well as studio lighting

The goal should be controlled harmony, not the highest shade number available.

Long-term performance also matters more than immediate brightness. A systematic review of 6,500 porcelain laminate veneers estimated 95.5% cumulative survival at 10 years, while also documenting fractures, debonding and other complications that may require treatment.

Prof Clinic: Veneers in Istanbul, Turkey

A dramatic celebrity smile transformation can show what cosmetic dentistry is capable of, but it cannot tell another patient how many teeth should be treated.

At Prof Clinic in Istanbul, we begin with the patient’s existing teeth, enamel, gums, bite, smile width and aesthetic goals before deciding whether the plan needs veneers, crowns, whitening, orthodontic correction or a combination.

We do not connect any patient plan to a celebrity smile. Young Thug has no known connection to Prof Clinic, and his dental history should not be copied as a treatment template.

Our Turkey Dental Tourism Smile Makeover guide explains how veneer planning can include digital smile design, shade selection, bite assessment, a temporary mock-up when suitable and final ceramic fitting.

Prof Clinic’s Veneer Services

At Prof Clinic, cosmetic dental planning can include E-max veneers, zirconia restorations, composite veneers, professional whitening and digital smile design, depending on what the teeth actually need.

Our Dental Treatment services include veneers, whitening, zirconia/E-max restorations and dental implants, while Prof Clinic’s current site describes the use of 3D imaging and digital smile design for personalised smile planning.

Patients who want to see the proposed proportions before final treatment can also be considered for digital preview or a temporary mock-up when suitable.

The key question is not how many veneers can be placed. It is how many restorations are genuinely needed to create a balanced smile while preserving healthy tooth structure.

For suitable international veneer cases, Prof Clinic’s current guidance describes a typical 5- to 7-day Istanbul treatment window, including consultation, preparation, digital smile design, laboratory work and final bonding. More complex dental problems may require a different timeline.

Full Arch Results at Prof Clinic

A strong full-smile result should not make every patient’s teeth look identical.

The best comparison cases are those with a starting condition similar to your own: spacing, discolouration, worn edges, uneven tooth proportions or an older set of restorations.

When reviewing a large veneer case, look for:

  • Shade that fits the patient’s face
  • Natural variation between central incisors, lateral incisors and canines
  • Balanced tooth width and length
  • Healthy-looking gum contours
  • Appropriate translucency
  • Comfortable bite
  • Consistent before-and-after photography

Our Prof Clinic Before and After gallery includes consented dental transformations across different starting conditions and treatment types.

A successful result should look intentional without looking mass-produced.

The Young Thug teeth before and after story is more substantial than a simple celebrity veneer rumour. Early official videos show a more spaced and less uniform smile, while his later career brought a much brighter, more coordinated appearance.

Young Thug also referenced the dental work himself. His music mentions new teeth, and later specifically refers to removing veneers and having an implant, suggesting that his smile evolved through more than one treatment stage.

At Prof Clinic, we build that plan around the patient’s own mouth rather than a celebrity result.

Send us clear smile photos, close-up dental photos and available X-rays to receive a personalised assessment of whether veneers, whitening, orthodontics or another approach may suit your smile.

People Also Ask: Young Thug’s Teeth

  1. Did Young Thug get veneers?

Young Thug has directly referenced veneers in his music. In Real Love, he also referred to having an implant after removing veneers. That supports the fact that veneer treatment formed part of his dental history, although the number of veneers, material and exact clinical sequence have not been publicly documented.

  1. What did Young Thug’s teeth look like before?

Young Thug teeth before fame showed more spacing, greater shade variation and less regular front-tooth edges than his later smile. His official Stoner video from 2014 provides a useful early visual reference.

  1. How much do full arch veneers cost?

Cost depends on material and the number of teeth treated. Prof Clinic’s current 2026 smile makeover pricing guide lists 16 composite veneers at €2,400 and 16- to 20-tooth veneer packages at approximately €5,600 to €7,000. The final plan also depends on whether whitening, gum treatment, crowns or other dental work is required.

  1. Do veneers need replacing?

Veneers can last many years, but they are not lifetime restorations. A large systematic review estimated 95.5% survival at 10 years for porcelain laminate veneers, while fractures and debonding remained possible complications. Maintenance, bite forces, enamel bonding and oral hygiene all influence how long an individual restoration remains serviceable.
